OVERVIEW OF THE EDUCATION PROGRAMME

PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES:

> The programme prepares students to work in management positions in the international tourism, hotel, and restaurant industry. After 3 years of training, graduates from Vatel are fluent in English, able to use French, obtain knowledge of management, and skills in all departments of restaurants and hotels such as dining, marketing, and human resources. Students also gain nearly 1.5 years of practical experience through internships at hotels and resorts both in and out of the country. They are equipped to meet the requirements for fast career advancement a few years after graduation.

> The Vatel programme combines advanced management science with practical professional experience in the tourism, hotel, and restaurant industry. Training effectiveness is enhanced by immediately applying theoretical knowledge to practical work.

PROGRAMME DURATION:

The programme lasts for 3 years, divided into 6 semesters and 3 mandatory internships at hotels (internship durations: 4 months in the first and second years, and 6 months in the third year).

The entire programme is fully integrated with Vatel School of Tourism and Hotel Business as follows:

Year 1: Students are introduced to fundamental knowledge in marketing, human resource management, administration, specialized culture, as well as professional behavior skills suitable for various cultural backgrounds. They start becoming proficient in service etiquette, food preparation techniques, organizing parties, events, conferences, and handling unexpected situations. The year ends with an internship at a hotel.

Year 2: Alongside advancing theoretical knowledge, students gain more experience in management in specific real-life situations. They practice in various operational departments of hotels for 4-5 months. Team management skills are enhanced through leading a group of first-year students and being supervised by third-year students. By the end of the year, students are confident to intern abroad and improve their language skills fluently and professionally.

Year 3: Students are equipped with all necessary knowledge. At this stage, they are ready to manage a team, even within Vatel itself. They can assess and effectively apply the learned knowledge to solve real work tasks as actual employees. Next is a 6-month specialized internship in a department of their choice for their future career. With all these experiences, students become novice managers in large-scale hotels and restaurants without facing any major obstacles.

PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES

> The programme provides an ideal learning environment for students to develop their creativity and apply specialized skills, tools, and learning methods to real-world tasks, mastering graphic design knowledge through analytical processes. The goal of the programme is to enhance students’ visual knowledge to achieve suitable, effective, and professional design outcomes. Theoretical and creative practical learning activities will be assessed and applied in projects to provide students with real-world experience for their future careers.

The programme lasts for 3 years (excluding 1 foundational year), with 2 semesters each year. Instruction is conducted in English.

  1. TARGET AND HOW TO APPLY

Applicants must meet TWO (2) of the following conditions:

(1) Applicants must have English proficiency equivalent to B2 level according to the Common European Framework (CEFR) and valid until the application deadline, while also meeting the selection requirements of the programme.

(2) Applicants who have completed the accounting programme at HSU and wish to enroll in DMU’s top-up programme will be exempted from the courses they have already taken in the HSU accounting programme (recognized by DMU) and will study one year of the DMU accounting top-up programme.

(3) Applicants currently enrolled in HSU’s accounting programme who wish to enroll in DMU’s top-up programme will be exempted from the courses they have already taken in the 3-year HSU accounting programme (recognized by DMU) and will continue to study the final top-up year of the DMU accounting programme.

(4) Applicants from the economics sector studying at HSU and other universities will be exempted from equivalent courses they have already taken in the 3-year HSU accounting programme (recognized by DMU) and will complete the remaining courses in the HSU programme (if any). Afterwards, applicants will continue to study the final top-up year of the DMU accounting programme.

  • The program provides students with international marketing knowledge with practical applications in Vietnam. TRAINING OBJECTIVES

  • The program trains students to be able to work in executive and management positions in the field of international hotel and restaurant tourism. After three years of training, Vatel graduates are fluent in English, knowledgeable in management, and have professional skills in all departments of restaurants and hotels such as F&B, Front Office, Marketing, and Human Resource?and has nearly 1.5 years of practical experience through 3 internships at hotels and resorts at home and abroad. Students are able to meet the requirements of promotion opportunities after a few years of work experience after graduation. 
  • The Vatel program is a methodical combination of advanced management science with professional experience in the hospitality industry and restaurant management. Training effectiveness is enhanced through the immediate application of theoretical knowledge to practical work.

COURSE CONTENT

TRAINING TIME 

Standard 3 years. Consists of 6 semesters and 3 compulsory internships at hotels (internship period: 4 months in Years I and II, 6 months for an internship in Year III). 

The entire program is 100% English teaching, according to the training technology transferred by Vatel Hotel & Tourism Business School: 

  • Year 1: Students have basic access to knowledge of marketing, human resource management, administration, and specialized culture as well as skills to behave professionally in accordance with other cultures. each to initially become proficient in service, food processing techniques, organization of parties, events, conferences, and how to handle unexpected events that may take place. Students will end the school year with an internship at a hotel. 
  • Year 2: Along with continuing to improve professional theoretical knowledge, students will experience more management skills in specific real-life situations. Students learn to practice in the professional departments of hotels 4 ?5, team management skills will be enhanced through managing a group of 1st-year students, as well as being managed by students. 3rd-year student. At the end of year 2, students will have enough confidence to practice abroad and at the same time perfect their ability to use foreign languages ​​fluently and professionally. 
  • Year 3:?/strong>Students are fully equipped with all the necessary knowledge. At this stage, they are ready for the position of managing a group, right in the Vatel school itself. Students have the ability to evaluate and apply the knowledge they have learned to solve work like real workers. Followed by a 6-month internship specializing in a department that students choose as a future career. All these experiences allow students to become management trainees in high-class Hotels and Restaurants without any hindrance.
