SEED Scholarship (Canada-ASEAN Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development) is a scholarship organized to target international students currently studying at Southeast Asian Colleges and Universities, with learning needs. and short-term research in Canada.

The scholarship is organized through cooperation and student exchange agreement between Canada’s Centennial College and Hoa Sen University.

The Short-Term Online Internship Scholarship Programme is jointly implemented by Education New Zealand (ENZ) and the University of Auckland, offering students the opportunity to:

Gain practical industry experience with multinational companies and New Zealand businesses.

Network and connect with international students in the region.

Develop work skills, confidence, and professional networks.

Enhance global perspectives and skills.

Advance careers, regardless of location.

The programme spans 3 weeks with approximately 10-15 hours of work per week, designed to provide international students with opportunities to enhance skills, practical knowledge, and promote career development in the future.

Participants will be grouped into teams of 4-6 students from different countries (Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, India) to address a business challenge for a company based in Auckland. Each group will be accompanied by a mentor to provide guidance and support throughout the programme. Students will be given access to an online platform to connect with their teams, exchange documents, and receive feedback from mentors. At the end of the internship, students will submit a report or presentation on their group project results.

Some participating employers from previous years include: Auckland Council, Auckland Transport, Auckland Unlimited, BDO, Deloitte, KPMG, Mercury, Orion Healthcare, PwC, Samsung, Vodafone.

Application Requirements:

1⃣ Vietnamese students currently enrolled in bachelor’s programmes at a university in Vietnam from the 3rd year onwards. Students from various fields of study are eligible to apply. However, the programme is not suitable for those studying the following disciplines: Medicine/ Pharmacy/ medical-related programmes; Law; science disciplines such as Chemistry/ Biology/ Oceanography.

2⃣ Proficient in English (equivalent to IELTS Academic 6.0 or above).

3⃣ Complete all information in the online application, including the requirement to submit an English CV and provide a link to a video presentation in English introducing yourself and explaining why you want to be selected for this programme.

At the meeting, the two sides discussed cooperation opportunities in potential fields such as cooperation in scientific research, organization of specialized seminars on Innovation, application of AI technology, IoT and big data in research, learning, and technology such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), IOT (Internet of Things), and Big data, Professor Dominique Laffly expressed the impression of particular interest in quality and achievements that HSU’s VATEL international training program has been and is being achieved, at the same time, clearly shows the commitment of the French Embassy in being ready to support HSU to furthermore develop the VATEL program. 

On behalf of the Board of Directors, Dr. Phan Thi Viet Nam – Vice Rector of the school affirmed that HSU will constantly maintain and further develop the VATEL program – which has become a prominent brand of the school. At the same time, HSU is always ready to coordinate with the French Embassy in Vietnam and Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City to organize scientific, cultural, and educational seminars, forums, and events at Hoa Sen University.
