Opportunity to Receive JPY 1 Million from Morisawa Type Design Competition 2024

Typeface designs symbolize their era and endure, transcending time while captivating the hearts of those engaged in creative processes. The Morisawa Type Design Competition 2024 is expanding to five categories: Japanese, Latin, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Hangeul divisions. In this ever-evolving world, the competition aspires to foster creativity that shines globally and endures indefinitely. With this aspiration, a wealth of submissions across various languages is eagerly anticipated.

Eligibility

• Open to individuals or groups.
• There are no specific restrictions regarding nationality or other criteria.
• Employees of Morisawa Inc. and its group companies are not eligible to enter.

Morisawa Award

• This award is presented to works that pursue originality and aesthetic excellence.
• The competition is divided into Japanese, Latin, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Hangeul categories.
• Entrants are allowed to enter multiple categories, and there is no limit on the number of submissions.
• Awardees will receive a certificate and a trophy, as well as an additional cash prize as a supplementary award.

Please submit your entries according to the format specifications for each category. You can download the detailed specifications as a compressed zip file from the official website.

Be aware that entries significantly deviating from the format specifications will be considered disqualified and will not be eligible for judging. The eligibility or disqualification of submissions will be determined by the secretariat, based on these submission guidelines and the separately established format specifications.
