Introduction to Social Work
WHAT IS SOCIAL WORK (Social Work)? Social work is a helping profession and an applied science based on human rights and liberal education. When studying Introductory Social Work, students learn professional skills such as RELATIONSHIP relationship-building skills, listening skills, empathy skills, problem identification skills, 5WHY tools, critical thinking skills, six thinking hats thinking, fishbone problem-solving thinking, etc. to analyze problems in social work practice. Students also learn foundational knowledge including system theory, Strengths perspective, PIE perspective = people in the environment, problem-solving models in social work, principles General principles, and ethics of the social work profession. This subject is also for students of other majors to study because they will have the lens of systems theory and ecological thinking – PIE to solve problems. challenging issues at the individual, family, organizational, local, and global levels.

The Introductory Social Work course is designed, coordinated, and taught by Ms. Doan Thi Ngoc – Lecturer of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Hoa Sen University along with a team of experienced visiting lecturers.
